Out of the 270 HIV positive patients 35 (13.0%) were HBsAg positive while out of the 30 HIV negative patients 1 (3.3%) was HBsAg positive. Prevalence was highest in age group 15-20 (25.0%) with zero prevalence in age group below 15 and above 51 in HIV positive patients, there is significant statistical association between age and the occurrence of HBV infection (P&lt;0.05). Higher prevalence was recorded in males 16.2% than females 11.7%, there is no significant association between the occurrence of HBV and sex (P&gt;0.05). Multiple sex partners have the highest prevalence (50.0%) and no sex partner have the lowest prevalence (5.3%).This reveals that patients that are HIV positive are at risk of contracting HBV infection.</p>}, number={10}, journal={Scientific Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences}, author={A.M.
